The Covid-19 Pandemic is here and if you’re like most craft beer drinkers you may have to self quarantine for a few weeks (hopefully not months).
If you’re like me you made a few beer runs and stocked up before some of your favorite liquor stores either cut back on the hours they are open or they may have closed until this pandemic ends.
I made a list of some of my favorite beers that can get through this crisis even if you are only drinking one or two beers a day if you are rationing your stock.
If you are like me I like to drink some beer at the end of the day to decompress after all the bullshit I deal with all day and reset my myself for the next day.
So here is my “Hunkering Down” list of some high ABV beers that can help you deal with this pandemic and get you through this as strong as you know you can be!
We can get though this crisis if we are smart and we say to ourselves “Keep Cam. F*uck Pandemics. And get your drink on!”

Lagunitas Maximus
This is a “Go To” beer for me anytime of the year but I like it as a hunker down beer because of the name! Maximus was the main character in the movie “Gladiator” which means this beer can beat the crap out of anything, including the Coronavirus!
Flying Dog Double Dog
One of my all time favorite Double IPA! Dogs are protectors and this one has a beefy 12% ABV that will destroy anything that gets in it’s way!
Boulevard Tank 7 Farmhouse Ale
Not only is this an awesome Saison it’s beefed up to 8.5% and the name “Tank 7” reminds me of a tank that can protect and destroy multiple targets! Ride this one out with me peeps!
DuClaw Devils Milk
Barleywines are a staple in my beer cellar and this one kicks ass at 10.6% ABV! It’s nice to have the devil on your side when dealing with a pandemic!
Evil Twin Even More Jesus
I’m not religious but if you need the “Big Man” on your side to combat this virus you can’t go wrong with this hefty 12 pounder Imperial Stout!
Sierra Nevada Hop Bullet Double IPA
This is an great Double IPA that can take down anything in it’s way because it’s super hopped up bullet awesomeness!
Pipeworks Ninja Vs Unicorn Double IPA
What can combat an enemy better than a Ninja or a Unicorn! At 8% ABV you have a great ally at your side!
Bell’s The Oracle Double India Pale Ale
Nothing is better than having an Oracle on your side so you have insight on how to defeat your enemy! Big, bad and tasty!
Ithaca Dr. Zaic Dr. Zaic
Whenever there is sickness you need a doctor and this one is there to help you with 8% of hoppy goodness!
21st Amendment Monk’s Blood
Blood is a necessity when a pandemic hits so be prepared with this this beer that weighs in at 8.3%
Dogfish Head 120 Minute IPA
The king of IPA’s this elixir is so strong at 18% ABV that I can’t see anything invading your body if you drink this brew!
Firestone Walker Parabola
This Imperial Stout clocks in at around 14% and can be used as a sedative at the end of a long day of being quarantined. I would only use this one sparingly!
